Founded by Herman Tolz, Tolz Realtors has been serving Southern New Jersey for over 50 years. At one point, there were 6 offices throughout the region, but only 2 remain today - our office in Cape May, and an office in Villas, NJ. In 1982, Herman sold the Cape May office to Nick Mucha. Nick is still the Broker of Record and has unmatched experience in the Cape May market - over 37 years.
The image to the right is an ad from September of 1979. The bottom left property is what is now known as Somewhere In Time, located in Cape May Point. At the time, the entire building was for sale for $165,000. Currently, Somewhere In Time has 9 separate units. In 2006, a single 1 bedroom 1 bath unit sold for $369,000. It's hard for some to believe, but it DOES snow in Cape May. The photo to the left was taken during the Blizzard of 1996, which dumped about 18 inches of snow in Cape May. At that time, Quinn's Gas Station was located across the street... check out those gas prices! |
The Blizzard of 1996 didn't compare to the record snowfalls we received in February of 2010. Some of the island was without power for over 4 days. This snowfall couldn't stop our agents, however. We put on our snowboots and trudged through the 24" of snow to show our properties! |
